Goa-yoga & painting - sunshine holiday
Angelika Grohmann & Andrew Logan
20.February - 6.March 2009
Cost:£500
The key to a more relaxed, more harmonious, more effective and fulfilled life is awareness!
On this yoga holiday retreat we will practice joyful awareness through yoga, meditation and painting. No painting skills necessary!
…awareness of beauty and light around us, awareness of beauty and light within our bodies, awareness of colours and sound, awareness of movement and breath, awareness of stillness, awareness of silence…
” The Palace”, a beautiful old Portuguese Villa, lies tucked away from the overcrowded Goa beaches. Surrounded by coconut groves, next to an old church garden, it is the ideal place to immerse yourself in a peaceful, rejuvenating and relaxing retreat. “The Palace” is a twenty minute walk from the beach. We will start the day with an early morning sun salutation, breathing and meditation, and watching the golden morning light on the sea. There will be more yoga at ” The Palace” and a painting session in the late afternoon, watching the sunset and meditation. There will also be plenty of time to sun bathe, swim in the divinely warm sea, enjoy the locale, explore Majorda market, or other trips!
How to get there
“The Palace”, an old Portuguese Villa is near Majorda Beach in Salcette near the small town Majorda, a little bit south from the Goa Dabolim Aiport. Google ‘ MAP OF GOA’ and you get more of an idea.
” The Palace” is near the hotel ‘VIVENDO’ a dos pal haços. 20 min by taxi from Goa Airport. Just give the taxi driver the following address:
HOTEL ‘VIVENDO’ A DOS PAL HACOS COSTA VADDO - MAJORDA SALCETTE - GOA
Please book your flight soon! Flights are round £400 at the moment.
Also remember: You will need a visa!
Accommodation
The cost includes simple accommodation at “The Palace” or nearby. If you want to stay in a more luxurious hotel, you will have to pay the difference, which we can discuss.

‘Body of Light’ Workshops
Sun 9th March
10am to 1pm
Sun 21st October: Yin and Yang - a balanced practice
“When we are ambitious and energetic, life force flows through our muscles, the Yang layer of our body. This is the essential attitude of Yang, the creative force without which there would never be anything new.
When we are peaceful and contented, life force flows
through our skeletal system, the Yin layer of the body.” (Paul Grilley)
IF THIS IS SCIENTIFICALLY TRUE, I DON’T KNOW. BUT HAVING INTEGRATED A SEQUENCE OF “YIN POSTURES’” INTO MY PRACTICE I FEEL THAT THEY ARE A BEAUTIFUL TOOL TO GET THE BENEFIT FROM STILLNESS, ACCEPTANCE AND SIMPLY BEING.
In the first part of this workshop we will start with an energetic flow of postures and take this journey into “YIN YOGA” inspired by Sarah Powers, holding gentle postures for a longer period of time to enhance the meridian and organ systems and to give our selves time for profound inner exploration and meditation. We will end the morning with chanting.
Open level, not suitable for complete beginners
